Past Activities

Our past activities in the from the beginning of year 2006 are :-

Blind Leading the Blind with Lions ( 12th March '06)We were all either blindfolded or leading a blindfolded person for a walk. it was an experience for us to know & feel how blind people go through their daily life.
hehe check out the amount of things we won from the lucky draw. =)

Orientation 2006 ( 25th March '06)
All the new members were invited to join the orientation in order to get to know each other. They were presented their certificates by our club advisor, Lion Karen Lee.

Then, we had glutton games where each team had to finish everything on their plate which includes biscuits, hard-boiled eggs, yong tau foo and bottles of water.

Another game where 4 ppl were tied together at their legs and had to move together to blow out a row of candles. Several other games were also played together with the Lions present. i'm pretty sure most leos made new friends & had a blast at the orientation. =p

Visit New Life Restoration Home BBQ (14th April '06)
&
Revisit New Life Restoration Home Steamboat ( 19th May '06)

We had several games and chatted with the orphans. it was good to know their lifestyle and cooperation between each other. They were all happy with smiles on their faces whether they lost or won the game It was wonderful to learn that even though they may not enjoy love from their parents, they were still able to share their care and love with others sincerely and unselfishly.
Our first visit to New Life Restoration home was a bbq session with the orphans.

We played dressing games with the orphans where they have to use their creativity to dress up the leos with only newspapers, plastic bags, straws. pretty good eh?? Second visit to New Life Restoration home, we had steamboat dinner.

handing out gifts to all the orphans. =)

Leo Idol ( 22nd April '06)

It's Leo Idol!!! Evyone was challenged to show his/her talents. THis event was jointly organized by Monash university, the Leo club of SMK subang Jaya, SUnway New Century and Pj Metro whereby the funds raised through ticket sales went to the National Kidney Foundation. The response was good with about 500 audiences and 12 finalists. The finalists were all very talented but unfortunately there was only one chosen idol. We are hoping that YOU will be the next Leo idol.

Charity Fundraiser Pizza Sales

This event was organized in Monash campus foyer to raise funds for our club and for the New Life Restoration Home. We managed to get the amount of funds we expected since most of the members were actively taking care of the booth and actively eating the pizza as well to support our club fund. YOUR ideas of fund raising activities for Leo club are warmly welcomed to support other future activities we will have.

Blood Donation ( 23rd-25th May '06)

Students were happily donating their blood in Monash University, campus foyer. We will be having blood donation again at the same place. Do check it out!

WWF Merchandise Sale & PAWS Donation Box (24th-26th May '06)

At the same time as there was a blood donation event, we had the WWF merchandises sales. This was held in our campus cafeteria. We sold WWF erasers, collar pins, key chains, books, t-shirts, canvas bags, caps, note cards and sun shades which raised about RM 643 and RM 170.10 from the donation box. This fund went to animals’ food in PAWS.

PAWS Visit (27th Ma
y '06)
This trip was quite different from the trips we had before because in this trip, we visited animals (PAWS). We managed to donate 30kg worth of dog food, 7 kg worth of cat food and 1 kg of kitten milk from the funds we raised through the donation box at the WWF merchandise sale.
