Youth Exchangee from Japan
i hosted a 20 years old japanese girl, Minami from Kansai. She was in Malaysia from aug 2-18 but she stayed with me from Aug 11-18 as she had 2 host family. Communication was not a problem as she's majoring in English in her university so she was able to converse well. She was pretty easy-going and was adventurous to try out new things.
During the week, we brought her to Royal Selangor Pewter factory, Malacca, Buddhist temple, Central market, Genting, shopping malls etc. She also tried our local food such as dim sum, wantan mee, "loh she fun", naan, seafood and not forgetting our king of the fruit, durian. Sadly, she couldn't take spicy food. It was a great opportunity to be able to show her how's malaysia like and learn about their culture in Japan as well. I was also given the opportunity to meet other youth exchangee from italy, belgium, norway. This has definitely been a wonderful experience and i encouraged other leo members to apply for this youth exchange programme. =)
